I know I've been MIA for the longest time but I really am not a regular blogger so it really does not make a difference . I love visiting beauty blogs of my online makeup buddies on a regular basis though. This is how and why I have started MMU sampling again. I read so many rave reviews about this brand, Earthen Glow Minerals, and since a sample baggie cost only less than a buck, I told myself, why not check out what the hype is all about. I thought I was done searching for my HG mineral foundation when I found Dreamworld's Amenti Luna foundation but a mineral makeup foundation junkie like me can't just get enough. My closest EG mineral foundation I would say is Helena. Might get a full size of this shade but I still have a lot of other EG shades to road test so I'll be adding more photos as it comes. Just for reference, I am also listing my shades from different MMU brands. Dreamworld = Amenti in Luna Formula Meow = FF Naughty Abyssinian Valerie Beauty = Cover Deluxe Warm 3.5 Joppa = Medium Light #3 Full Coverage Buff''d = Buff (this turned a little dark on me this winter) Monave = Saturnina Oceanmist = Sandstone Lauress = Pure Yellow Minimalist BE = Medium Beige EDM = Winged Butter Pearl Jin Adya Helena Kaylee Yuan Yuan
I went to my neighborhood Longs Drugs to pick up a prescription and I came home not only with the drugs but with new cosmetics! Who's to pass on their BOGO free Covergirl Lash Blast, my holy grail mascara! I've finished 2 tubes of this mascara already and I was really planning to score a new one. Thank God for BOGOs! Not only that, I've been wanting to try L'Oreal's cream eyeliner but I really did not want to shell out $12 for this when I can get MAC's fluidline for an extra $3 more. But just the same, LD's having a BOGO on all their L'Oreal Hip cosmetic line so why not give it a try now. I was able to roadtest the Black cream liner when I got home and boy am I impressed! I could say it is comparable to MAC's Blacktrack fluidline but this one's more black amd creamier. I even used it to tightline my lashline. On a different note, I needed to change the color of my toenails so I bought another BOGO free nailcolor by Rimmel. I picked up Champagne and Posh Trash. and a neutral look using my new mascara and cream eyeliner
I had a great Thursday! It was well spent with co-workers in celebrating July born babies which includes yours truly. We all had dinner at Sapporo Japanese Steakhouse in Monterey around a hibachi table. The food wasn't really that great but it was neither that bad. I ordered a calamari steak and shared it with my cousin who had a Hibachi Shrimp. Anyways, we were entertained by the restaurant's staff with an upbeat happy birthday song after dinner and I received a beautiful chop stick set gift. Since we finished early, we decided to grab some coffee at Starbucks at the Del Monte Shopping Center where we later did some fun MAC shopping at the Macys MAC counter. My co-workers know how much I love make-up so they asked me to help them pick make up "must haves". It was amazing how influential I have become to them in getting them into a MAC frenzy. 4 of my co-workers bought Play on Plums duo mineralize eye shadow from the recently released Electroflash collection and I also introduced them to MAC Tendertones. 3 of them got Pucker while my friend Joan bought Take a Hint. I didn't want to leave empty handed so I bought the Duo Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Dark which I have been on the fence about getting when it was first released. But due to my online enabler buddy, Aileen, I caved in and snagged one and I am amazed on how great of a finish it is when applied on top of my mineral foundation. Funny because my co-workers wanted now to have a make-up party at my place and wanted me to give them some make-up 101 lessons. I am sure it is going to be a blast so I'll arrange one for sure but I really need help cleaning my room and my bathroom counter. I am so excited as they all are. Pictures from our dinner below and our mall trip afterwards.
I wanted to get the new MAC mineralize eye shadow in Fresh Green Mix but I already have so many greens in my makeup stash so I decided to play with my old MAC eyeshadows and recently purchased Aromaleigh mineral eye pigments. My MMU online buddies are sooo right about Aromaleigh, these are just beyond amazing , color, texture and staying power - wise. I usually creased with MAC pigments but not with Aromaleigh so count me in as a repeat customer for Aromaleigh's array of mineral powder eyeshadows. Anyway, let me break down what I used in this FOTD. Beware of camwhoring shots! FACE: BE Foundation Primer BE Summer Bisque Concealer BE Well Rested Joppa Medium Light #3 mineral foundation Joppa Dewy Finishing Silk MAC Stereo Rose MSF (used as blush) MAC Fix+ (to set the made up face) EYES: MAC Soft Ochre paint pot (base) MAC Lucky Jade Shadestick (lid) Aromaleigh Rocks! Got 3 of them as a birthday present to myself and I am so stoked! My friend, Aileen, has swatches and rave reviews on these new MAC blush release. I could see myself going back and getting more of the other shades. As soon as I came home, I tried Gentle on my cheeks and I love the color pay off and the amazing texture. A sure winner in my book! and a simple FOTD with Gentle Mineralize Blush
Hi everyone! Been on a long hiatus from my multiply site and I am excited to share my new found MMU shade in Buff by Buffd. I've been reading posts about recent MMU sales so I decided to try the ones that are getting big raves. Who am I to pass on such great deals by different MMU companies ,right? So to begin with, above's my most recent MMU haul (Buffd full size jar in Buff, Buff'dsamples in Almond and Warm foundation, Buff'd freebies >Cozy mineral eye shadow, Tricky mineral blush, and Grape Pure Pigment. Joppa full size jars in Medium Light#3 and Medium#3, Joppa Dewy Finishing Silk refill baggie and some e/s samples not pictured as my cousin took them away ) ........and a Neutral look using Buff'd mineral foundation in Buff before work in my scrub jacket No flash with flash Natural Light, no flash Manual Setting with flash My mini-me and I FACE: BE Prime Time primer Pure Luxe Powder Eraser in Medium Buff'd foundation in Buff (full coverage) Buff'd Finishing Powder in Mais Joppa mineral blush in Blushing Bride MAC MSF in Gold Spill Eyes: MAC Beige-ing shadestick Buff'd e/s in Cozy (lid) Valerie Beauty e/s in Miranda (inner lid and lower lashline) MAC Femme-Fi (highlighter) MAC Blacktrack fluidline (upper lashline) EDM eyebrow color in Dark Brown Maybelline Turbo Boost Mascara Lips: MAC DErvish lipliner MAC Strobe Currant lip conditioner MAC Take a Hint tendertone I've been waiting for these to arrive and it's here!! The brushes are really divine, just the feel of it on my skin I could tell it will be a staple. They're uber soft and the size of the handle is just perfect. I also ordered a sample of EDM's Dark Brown loose brow liner and a neutral eye shadow shade in Rare Silk. Can't wait to try these... In between household chores, I managed to take a break and do a quick makeover. Don't mind the hair, my time was so limited I didn't get to fix or style it. It has been a while since my last post. I've been so out of the loop with anything about makeup. The good thing about it is that it did help me tone down my vanity expenses. I still love MAC and MMU and I wear them everyday. I simply lost the obsession...the excitement when a new collection is released or when a new MMU brand has been getting a lot of raves. But I kinda miss it and so yesterday, when I went to my local drug store to pick up my daughter's prescription, I hit the cosmetic side of the store and got a few makeup brushes, a couple of Maybelline mascaras, a 2nd tube of Maybelline's mineral power concealer which I sooo sooo love, some cotton squares, and I finally snagged a tube of Monistat's chafing powder gel to use as a face primer. Tried it today and it works, no breakout at all and my mineral foundie went on smoothly and flawlessly. Never thought that this stuff that's supposed to be used some place else will make a breakthrough as a good face primer.... right, MMU fellas?? Oh and the brushes I bought from Longs Drugs are so divine!! I could say that these brushes are on a par with MAC's in terms of quality and all were dirt cheap. Here's my recent haul and a pic using Dreamworld's Themis foundation (in Luna formula) which is my current MMU fave. Lynne Jodie lipglaze I've never been happier with my new found staple , Victoria's Secret's Very Sexy No Strings Silk Eye Shadow, an amazingly beautiful purple eye shadow. This normally retails for $12 but I got it only for 3 bucks from their semi-annual sale. I'm glad I bought 2 of these! I'm not so good at describing stuff, I wish I had the talent my friend Aileen has when it comes to giving good reviews of makeup collections and whatnot. So anyhoo, I'll just post pictures, mostly eye shots of me wearing this wonderful VS jewel. I'm such a MAC fiend that I feel kind of guilty swooning over something not MAC..haha. Let me start with showing a pic of No Strings.. BTW, ignore the ugly brows, I know it needs major grooming asap! Oh and the zits on the chin too, they need to go. What I used: FACE: Meow FF Abyssinian mineral foundation Monave Angel finishing powder BE Summer Bisque Concealer Valerie Beauty Couquette blush LIPS: Valerie Beauty Here Kitty lipstick EYES: MAC Bare Canvas paint Valerie Beauty Bridezilla on inner to middle lid Victoria's Secret No Strings on crease, outer lid and outer half of lower lashline MAC Fairylite pigment on browbone MAC Blue Storm pigment on upper and lower lashline MAC Graphblack Technakohl on waterline Maybelline Turbo Boost Mascra Nothing on my ungroomed brows I wasn't planning on going out nor was I interested in lookin' for post-holiday bargains. I guess the shopping frenzy in me is slowly taking its toll on me. I've been feeling low these days that I had to put my love for shopping at the backseat and just focus on working, ergo make more moolah. HOWEVER, at 11 am, Thursday morning , my phone rang and I was still laying in bed half asleep. It was my sister calling to tell me that it is the first day of Victoria's Secret's semi-annual sale event and that she already bought a bunch of gift sets for a great great deal. Within 10 minutes, she came to my house and showed me what she scored and without thinking twice, I washed my face, brushed my teeth, put on my jeans,a shirt and a hoodie, no makeup, (well I put on a little powder, mascara and lipbalm) , tied my hair up on a ponytail, grabbed my purse (and my credit card holder) and off we went to the mall. And the damage to my mastercard?? Well, I don't even want to think about it. All I know is that these are very good, irresistible deals that are too hard to pass on. Half of my haul really are for gifts and pasalubong to friends and relatives so I really should not be guilty, right? Anyways, I took pictures of my haul and I may have to go back for the lingerie sale... I know I'm bad at staying on budget. When can I really be on a true shopping rehab...probably never..haha ....oh well Can I add my Dollar Store buys from last week?
